Way back when, when I was about 15lbs. lighter, I used to jog at least 4-5 times a week, and I started having a problem... My right foot would go numb, then my right calf, and normally I would get so clumsy that I would have to stop jogging. Since I started working out again, I haven't really had this problem, until today. I haven't tried jogging for longer than one minute at a time before today, but I only did two minute jogging intervals with three minutes of walking. During the last interval, my foot fell asleep, and by the time I finished my cool down, everything below my knee went numb. I looked it up online and got everything from tying my shoes too tight, to a serious "compartment syndrome" that could be deadly... I'm thinking I should try new shoes first... But I'm also wondering if I weigh a bit too much to be jogging. There was a mention of too much pressure being exerted on nerves in the back or hips, which running would obviously put a lot of pressure on both for me right now. The only reason why I'm leaning to it either being my shoes or the pressure thing are: my shoes are almost a year old and are definitely worn out, and I had a weird mild sharp pain in my hip when the numbness started. Pain in the butt!!! Either way, new shoes are in order, and I will probably back down to working on increasing my walking speed until I lose a little more weight... then I'll try jogging again...
Anyways... School vacation threw me off this week as I didn't really have any kind of schedule. I'm looking forward to heading back to school, but fully aware that I need to have a plan for when summer vacation begins. The berry farm should keep me pretty busy, but there will be a couple weeks at the beginning of the summer that will be a little slow.
Alright! Shower time!!!
