Numb Foot

Way back when, when I was about 15lbs. lighter, I used to jog at least 4-5 times a week, and I started having a problem... My right foot would go numb, then my right calf, and normally I would get so clumsy that I would have to stop jogging.  Since I started working out again, I haven't really had this problem, until today.  I haven't tried jogging for longer than one minute at a time before today, but I only did two minute jogging intervals with three minutes of walking.  During the last interval, my foot fell asleep, and by the time I finished my cool down, everything below my knee went numb.  I looked it up online and got everything from tying my shoes too tight, to a serious "compartment syndrome" that could be deadly... I'm thinking I should try new shoes first... But I'm also wondering if I weigh a bit too much to be jogging.  There was a mention of too much pressure being exerted on nerves in the back or hips, which running would obviously put a lot of pressure on both for me right now.  The only reason why I'm leaning to it either being my shoes or the pressure thing are:  my shoes are almost a year old and are definitely worn out, and I had a weird mild sharp pain in my hip when the numbness started.  Pain in the butt!!!  Either way, new shoes are in order, and I will probably back down to working on increasing my walking speed until I lose a little more weight... then I'll try jogging again...
Anyways... School vacation threw me off this week as I didn't really have any kind of schedule.  I'm looking forward to heading back to school, but fully aware that I need to have a plan for when summer vacation begins.  The berry farm should keep me pretty busy, but there will be a couple weeks at the beginning of the summer that will be a little slow.
Alright!  Shower time!!!

TOM SUX

For those of you who don't know... TOM stands for "Time Of the Month."  Even worse for me as my TOM only comes once every three months and tends to last WEEKS!  AHHHHH!!!
Anyways!!!
My dad said, and I quote, "It's starting to show."  Meaning, my weight loss...  If you knew my dad you would probably sh*t yourself right now as this is the closest to a compliment I have received in forever.  This is the man who is always telling me, "you could be so pretty if you lost weight." Or,"you'll never find someone to be with you until you lose the weight."  Love him, but can't stand when he opens his mouth about 50% of the time.
I did have my first real face plant on Friday, although I did pretty well the rest of the day...  We have "Friday Morning Goodies" at school in the Faculty Room.  In the past, I've avoided the faculty room all-together, but I had to bring something in this time... I made a hash brown bake last fall that was a HUGE hit, and got all kinds of requests to make it again. I had to try it.  Well, I didn't HAVE to try it, but I really, really wanted to try it.  And then the dominoes fell... I had at least three servings of it... potatoes, cheese, cream of potato soup, cheddar cheese soup, sour cream, bacon and ham... SOOOOOOO YUMMY!!!  I had made a vegetarian pan as well, minus the ham and bacon and add in red peppers, onions and mushrooms... Also YUMMY!!! Ugh!!!  I ended up only eating about half of my lunch since I was still full from breakfast and only had cheese and crackers for dinner.  I was still up a little this morning when I checked my weight, but I've been pounding the fluids and watching what I eat today, so I'm hoping I flush out a lot of it.
Meanwhile... the weather sucks here, so I didn't get outside at all today.  I did go with my parents to see a live show of...

Jack Hanna
The kid in me was SOOOOO excited to see him along with his animals.  I was surprised at how funny he really is, and would definitely go see him again!
My mom insisted on eating out afterwards and had us stop at a Chinese food restaurant.  She kept saying, "I hope this doesn't sabotage you."  Of course the waiter brought fried noodles and duck sauce as an ap, which my mom and dad pigged out on... I slowly sipped my Diet Pepsi and avoided watching them eat their noodles.  My mom then made another comment about sabotaging me when my ap of wonton soup came, and dad gave me a look... The "why would you order that" look.  I grabbed my handy dandy iPhone and showed them both on my LoseIt ap that... my soup was only 110 calories, compared to their 250 calorie egg rolls that had just arrived, and 40 cal/tbsp duck sauce they were dipping their rolls in (they each used at least 2 tbsp.).  Then food came... and Dad realized that he had ordered something pretty fattening... Lo Mein!  Mom ordered Shrimp and Green Beans, and I ordered Beef and Broccoli.  With half a cup of rice, about 500 calories total...  A little higher than I would eat at home, but pretty damn good for eating out at a restaurant with no planning!!!

LOTS of housework to do tomorrow!!!

Bum yesterday, getting back at it today!!!

So I was definitely lazy yesterday, but I watched my calories at the same time and made sure not to go over... I've been keeping my posts short lately, and this will be yet another one... I'm getting off my butt and heading outside to get a walk in!

Feeling Lazy

I really just want to sit around all day and do nothing...

I've worked really hard this week and have seen some success.  I'm hoping to finally bust through 260 tomorrow... but I just don't want to do anything today... I'll update later with hopefully good news of movement!!!

Easter Success!

I ate a small breakfast, drank lots of water, and was able to have a yummy Easter meal without going nuts or breaking my calorie bank!  I put the meal together, so I was able to stick to the basics and I knew every ingredient that was involved in the cooking process.  A salad with low-fat dressing as an ap; ham, peas and roasted potatoes as the meal, and low-fat frozen yogurt with sweetened strawberries for dessert!  To top things off, I left my parents house feeling totally satisfied and not bloated or over-full... WooHoo!  It's the little celebrations that are making a difference!

Energizer Bunny

Quick post... Haven't really seen much of a loss over the past few days, so I decided to measure myself tonight.  Way early, yes... But I need some motivation, and while my clothes are getting looser, my weight has not moved much... I wanted to make sure I wasn't imagining my clothes getting bigger, so I measured... and... I'm down CM!!!  I know it's not much, but it still feels good!  If I convert the cm to inches, it's just shy of an 8" loss.
Why energizer bunny? Well, I've been adding more and more to my workouts, and have found myself with enough energy to keep going.  Question is, how much do I push it?  I've already doubled my work-outs... I don't want to injure myself, but I'm not exhausting myself... I'm going to keep adding...
